Adele's stunning wax figure launched in London!

After winning an Oscar and being awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list, internationally acclaimed singer and songwriter, Adele, was today honoured with a Madame Tussauds wax figure in London.

Famous for her powerful and emotional stage presence, the unveiling of her likeness in Madame Tussauds London paid tribute to her show-stopping live performances with suitably dramatic and theatrical staging. Media arrived to see the figure back lit in perfect silhouette before the singer’s likeness was slowly revealed as her anthem Someone Like You was performed live on a piano, before being showered in silver and gold glitter. Dressed in a glamorous black dress, mirroring her 2012 Grammys performance look, the figure is styled to perfection with Adele's trademark black eyeliner and flowing locks carefully coiffured.

"It's amazing – I feel a bit emotional. They've even got my chin right."

The singer herself had a sneak peak of her figure at the Madame Tussauds studios recently and was delighted with the result. On meeting her double she said, "That's scary! It's amazing – I feel a bit emotional. They've even got my chin right."

“Adele is quite simply one of the world's most successful, celebrated and popular performers and rightly deserves a place here at Madame Tussauds London," commented PR Manager, Nicole Fenner. “We are delighted to honour her here today, and we know guests will flock to stand on stage next to her. We wanted to replicate her as a dynamic performer and hopefully we've achieved that. Certainly the response this morning has been extremely positive. She is one of the most influential and acclaimed British female artists ever and looks right at home alongside our other pop greats," Nicole added.

Adele joins a dream line up of A-list female artists in the world famous attraction, including Beyonce, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse and Britney Spears - guests will be able to step on stage right next to their heroine.
